The Brain R 1988 ‧ Horror/Sci-fi

The Brain
R 1988 ‧ Horror/Sci-fi ‧ 1h 34m
Directed by: Edward Hunt

Synopsis:
In this 80's sci-fi horror flick, a mind-controlling alien brain uses a local TV show to brainwash the townspeople into committing bizarre acts of violence. High schooler Jim Majelewski uncovers the plot and must find a way to stop the brain before it's too late. Expect cheesy effects, unintentional humor, and some well-shot scenes. Perfect for a laid-back Sunday watch.

This film is ok but not bad. Just check your brain at the door, no pun intended. The first time you see the brain, it looks good. After that, it gets pretty cheesy, just like the rest of the effects. It’s an ‘80s film, but not your standard cheesy acting—it’s actually shot pretty well. It gets a little unintentionally funny at times, adding to its quirky charm. The ending isn’t a huge payoff since you pretty much know what they have to do. Overall, it all comes together and works. Good Sunday watch or something to put on while doing stuff.Rating: 6/10
